Shopee and Lazada Increase Seller Fees in Thailand
Major e-commerce platforms Shopee and Lazada have implemented new seller fee structures as of August 2026.
As of August 2026, Thailand’s leading e-commerce platforms, Shopee and Lazada, have updated their seller fee structures. According to a report by Prachachat Business, these adjustments represent a new round of fee increases for merchants operating on these digital marketplaces.
For sellers on Shopee, the Gross Profit (GP) commission fee has reached a maximum of 19.26%, a figure that includes Value Added Tax (VAT). Meanwhile, Lazada has adjusted its maximum commission fee to 17.5%, a rate that does not include VAT.
For residents and expatriates in Thailand who rely on these platforms for daily shopping or business, these fee hikes may lead to price adjustments on consumer goods. As merchants often pass operational costs onto the end consumer, shoppers might notice subtle increases in the prices of items listed on these platforms.
While the new fee schedules are currently in effect, the long-term impact on the competitive landscape of Thailand’s e-commerce sector remains to be seen. It is also unclear if further adjustments will be introduced later this year. Consumers are encouraged to monitor product pricing closely as these changes take hold across the digital retail environment.
