Truck Driver Arrested in Chon Buri Following Fatal Hit-and-Run
Police have apprehended a 31-year-old former truck driver in Chon Buri, wanted for a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in Phichit province last year.
On August 6, 2026, authorities from the Crime Suppression Division and Bang Lamung Police Station arrested a 31-year-old man, identified as Chatchawanchai, in front of a residence in Nong Prue, Chon Buri. The arrest follows an outstanding warrant issued by the Phichit Provincial Court on September 26, 2025.
According to Khaosod Online, the suspect is accused of a fatal hit-and-run incident that took place in the Thap Khlo district of Phichit. Reports indicate that while transporting goods to Nan province, the suspect struck a victim, leaving them critically injured on the road. The suspect allegedly failed to stop to provide assistance or report the incident to authorities. During questioning, the suspect reportedly claimed he did not stop because he did not want to witness the victim's condition and alleged that his wife had advised him against intervening.
He faces charges of reckless driving resulting in death, failing to stop to provide assistance, and failing to report the accident to officials.
