A man accused of orchestrating a fraudulent overseas employment scheme targeting Australia has been arrested following a cross-border investigation.
According to a report by Matichon Online, the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD) of the Thai police has apprehended a suspect accused of operating an illegal recruitment scheme. The individual allegedly deceived victims by promising employment opportunities in Australia, subsequently fleeing to Laos to establish a new company to continue the fraudulent activities.
Authorities estimate the total financial damage caused by the operation exceeds 65 million baht. The suspect was apprehended after allegedly targeting multiple victims with false promises of overseas work.
