Thai Authorities Arrest Man Over 65 Million Baht Overseas Employment Scam
A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Bangkok for allegedly orchestrating a fraudulent overseas employment scheme that caused 65 million baht in damages.
On August 6, 2026, Thai police from the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD) apprehended a 29-year-old man, identified as Nattawut (alias Phuttiphat), in the Ratchadaphisek area of Bangkok. According to Khaosod Online, the suspect was wanted under a Criminal Court warrant issued on April 29, 2024, for charges related to unauthorized recruitment for overseas employment and deceiving victims with false promises of work or internships abroad.
Authorities allege that the suspect previously fled to Laos to evade capture, where he reportedly changed his name and established a new company to continue defrauding victims. The total damages from his alleged activities are estimated at 65 million baht.
