Upon his arrival, Speaker Sophon was received with a formal welcoming ceremony by high-ranking Vietnamese officials, including the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Doan Anh. Following the airport reception, the Thai delegation visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi to receive a briefing on the current state of Thai-Vietnamese relations. Thai Ambassador Urawadee Sriphirom noted that this trip marks the first official visit by a Thai Parliamentary Speaker to Vietnam in 15 years.
