GSB Launches 2 Billion Baht Liquidity Support for SMEs
The Government Savings Bank (GSB) has introduced a new loan scheme to assist small and medium-sized enterprises facing rising operational costs.
On August 5, 2026, the Government Savings Bank (GSB) announced the launch of the 'GSB SME Liquidity Injection' loan program, totaling 2 billion baht. According to GSB Director Vitai Ratanakorn, the initiative aims to provide essential working capital to businesses struggling with increased energy prices and operational costs linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
The program offers loans covering up to 100% of the appraised value of collateral, with repayment terms extending up to 10 years. Borrowers can utilize these funds to cover operational expenses for up to 12 months. The bank stated that this measure aligns with Bank of Thailand policies intended to support debt relief and maintain employment levels during periods of economic volatility.
For residents and business owners in Thailand, this initiative may help stabilize local supply chains and service providers affected by recent economic pressures. While the program is designed to help SMEs navigate current challenges, potential applicants should note that specific eligibility criteria and application deadlines are managed directly by GSB branches. Further details regarding the exact application process and specific documentation requirements remain to be confirmed by the bank.
