According to a report by Prachachat Business on August 5, 2026, Deputy Minister of Transport Siriphong Angkasakulkiat announced that the Ministry is moving forward with plans to establish a dedicated committee. This body will be tasked with studying and drafting a master plan for the development of Southern Thailand. Siriphong indicated that the proposal for the committee's appointment is expected to be submitted to the Prime Minister as early as next week.
