Over 200,000 Appeals Filed Regarding Thailand's Welfare Card Eligibility

According to a report by Prachachat Business, Siriphong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport, has announced that over 200,000 individuals have filed appeals with the Department of Land Transport. These appeals follow recent adjustments to the criteria regarding vehicle ownership, which previously led to the disqualification of many citizens from the state welfare card program.

Siriphong expressed confidence that these policy updates, which include easing restrictions on older vehicles, could result in up to 3 million people regaining their eligibility for state benefits. The Ministry has also initiated outreach efforts to assist vulnerable groups directly at their homes to ensure they can navigate the appeal process effectively.
