Thailand Launches Initiative to Integrate Tourism Data for Enhanced Safety

On August 4, 2026, officials from Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports met to initiate the 'Domestic Tourist Data Center' project. Minister of Digital Economy and Society Chaiyot Chidchob stated that the project aims to streamline tourism-related services, reduce data redundancy, and significantly enhance the safety and convenience of international visitors. A joint working group, chaired by MDES Inspector General Dr. Polawat Witoolkollachit, has been established to oversee the development of this platform.
