Thailand’s National Park Passport Program Remains Active

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) has officially addressed misinformation circulating online regarding the national park passport stamp program. According to Khaosod Online, the DNP confirmed that the activity remains active and is not being discontinued.

To standardize procedures nationwide, the DNP issued guidelines on June 11, 2026, requiring that stamps be obtained only at designated visitor centers or specific locations within each park. Stamping at entrance fee checkpoints is now prohibited to reduce congestion, and stamps will not be issued outside of official operating hours.

For travelers, this clarification is significant as it reaffirms the program's goal of promoting independent tourism. Those who successfully collect stamps from all 156 national parks remain eligible to receive commemorative souvenirs. The DNP also clarified that there are no restrictions on owning multiple passports or requirements for signatures alongside stamps. However, officials noted that they may withhold stamping if a visitor presents an unusually high number of passports without evidence of accompanying travelers, as the program is intended to reward individual visits. While the program continues, travelers should ensure they visit designated service points during operating hours to avoid disappointment.
