Thai Authorities Launch 'Scent Enforcer' K-9 Operation at Suvarnabhumi Airport

On August 3, 2026, Thai Customs, in collaboration with the Border Patrol Police and Airports of Thailand (AOT), officially launched the 'Scent Enforcer' operation at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Phanthong Loykulnan, Director-General of the Customs Department, stated that the operation aligns with government policies to intensify drug suppression efforts across all channels, including airports, border checkpoints, and postal services. Authorities noted that drug smugglers continue to use various methods to bypass security, such as concealing substances within luggage, on their persons, or through courier services. These activities have negatively impacted the country's reputation and aviation security confidence.
