Rayong Governor Orders Removal of Illegally Dumped Soil

Rayong Governor Triphop Wongtrairat has issued a strict three-day deadline for the removal of dark, foul-smelling soil that was illegally dumped in Village No. 4 of the Phana Nikhom sub-district, Nikhom Phatthana district. According to Khaosod Online, the order follows public concern regarding the nature of the sediment, which was discovered on land managed by the Rayong Self-Help Land Settlement.

On July 31, 2026, local officials, including the Nikhom Phatthana Damrongtham Center and representatives from the Phana Nikhom Subdistrict Municipality, conducted an initial site inspection to address the situation. Governor Wongtrairat stated that the directive aims to provide clarity and alleviate community anxiety regarding the potential environmental impact of the waste. The soil is currently being transported back to the Amata City Industrial Estate.
