On July 31, 2026, lifeguards stationed at Patong Beach in Kathu District, Phuket, discovered a dolphin stranded on the shore. According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the lifeguards immediately initiated emergency care to stabilize the animal. Their efforts included keeping the dolphin’s body moist with water and damp cloths to regulate its temperature, while cordoning off the area to prevent public interference and minimize stress to the marine mammal.

The lifeguards coordinated with the Andaman Marine and Coastal Resources Research and Development Center (Phuket) to facilitate professional care. Experts from the center were dispatched to transport the dolphin to a specialized facility for a comprehensive health assessment and medical treatment.
