Thailand’s Recreational Forests See Surge in Visitors During Royal Birthday Holiday

According to a report from Khaosod Online Thailand, Thailand’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Suchart Chomklin, announced that 5,315 visitors explored the country’s recreational forests during the holiday period surrounding the King’s birthday on July 28, 2026.

To mark the occasion, the Royal Forest Department waived entry fees at seven specific recreational sites, aiming to encourage family outings and foster a deeper appreciation for nature. Minister Suchart noted that the department currently manages 37 recreational forests nationwide. Among these, the Bok Luek Recreational Forest in Ubon Ratchathani and the Hin Sam Wan Recreational Forest in Bueng Kan were identified as the most popular destinations for travelers.
