On July 28, 2026, the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) under the Ministry of Commerce honored His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on the occasion of his birthday. According to Khaosod Online, the department highlighted the King’s intellectual property contributions, specifically focusing on his commitment to 'Universal Design' to improve the quality of life for citizens.

Central to this tribute is a utility model for a bicycle designed for people with arm disabilities. Developed by the King when he was Crown Prince, the bicycle features a 21-speed rear-wheel drive system with a modified gear-shifting mechanism, allowing individuals with arm impairments to cycle independently. The DIP emphasized that this invention serves as a practical example of how innovation can foster social inclusion and equality.
