Authorities in Khon Kaen intercepted a major drug trafficking attempt, seizing 500 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine destined for Bangkok.

On the evening of October 4, 2026, police in Khon Kaen province successfully intercepted a significant drug trafficking operation. According to reports from Khaosod Online, Provincial Police Region 4 officers stopped a white Honda Jazz in Soi Mitraphap 27, located in the Mueang district.

Upon inspection, officers discovered 500 bags of crystal methamphetamine, totaling 500 kilograms, with an estimated street value exceeding 100 million baht. Two suspects, a 39-year-old man from Nonthaburi and a 33-year-old man from Chonburi, were taken into custody at the scene. Police Lieutenant General Noppakao Somanas, Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 4, confirmed the seizure and the arrest of the two individuals.

For residents and travelers, this incident highlights ongoing efforts by Thai law enforcement to curb large-scale narcotics distribution.
