Severe Flooding Persists in Prachin Buri, Affecting Thousands
Widespread flooding across seven districts in Prachin Buri has impacted over 42,000 households and resulted in five fatalities, with major transport routes remaining closed.
As of October 1, 2026, severe flooding continues to affect seven districts in Prachin Buri province, according to reports from Khaosod Online. The disaster has impacted 42,897 households and claimed five lives.
For residents and travelers, the situation remains critical regarding infrastructure. Authorities have maintained a strict closure of the 304 highway near the Ban Nang Leng Bridge in Kabin Buri district. While water levels near the first section of the bridge have receded below the road surface, a second section remains submerged under 70–80 centimeters of fast-moving water, making it impassable for standard vehicles. This closure disrupts travel routes toward Nakhon Ratchasima and Sa Kaeo provinces.
Local officials, including the Prachin Buri District Chief, noted that the water level in the Prachin Buri River has seen a slight decrease, currently measuring 4.51 meters. However, the combination of strong currents and obscured road shoulders poses significant safety risks. Travelers are advised to avoid the area and monitor local updates for potential route reopenings. It remains to be confirmed when the 304 highway will be deemed safe for traffic, as authorities continue to assess the structural integrity and water levels of the affected bridges.
