Bangkok Governor Monitors Flood Recovery as Rainfall Eases
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt expects major roads to clear within two days, though residential areas may take two weeks to fully dry.
According to Prachachat Business, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has confirmed that while rainfall has decreased, authorities remain on high alert, particularly regarding water levels near canals. The city is currently managing the aftermath of recent heavy rains.
Governor Chadchart stated that traffic on major thoroughfares is expected to return to normal within two to three days. However, the situation in residential communities is more complex; he estimated that it could take up to two weeks for these areas to be completely dry. The Governor noted that the Thonburi side of the city is currently less of a concern, as water drainage in that area is proceeding efficiently.
For residents and travelers, this means that while major transit routes should see improvements shortly, localized flooding may persist in smaller neighborhoods for an extended period. Those planning travel within the city should remain cautious of potential delays in low-lying areas.
