According to reports from Khaosod Online, severe flash flooding has struck Prachin Buri province following intense, continuous rainfall in the Khao Yai National Park area. As of late September 26, 2026, the deluge has impacted four districts: Kabin Buri, Si Maha Phot, Prachin Buri, and Na Di, with Prachantakham experiencing its most significant flooding in 40 years.
In response to the hazardous conditions, the head of Khao Yai National Park has ordered the immediate closure of six popular waterfalls and tourist sites. The park reported rainfall exceeding 100 millimeters, resulting in rapid, high-velocity flows of sediment-heavy water. The Governor of Prachin Buri has established an emergency operations center to coordinate the evacuation of residents and vulnerable groups from the affected areas.
