Refunds Offered for MRT Khlong Ban Ma Parking Fees During Flood Relief
The Thai government has clarified that parking fees paid at the MRT Khlong Ban Ma station before the implementation of a free parking policy for flood relief are eligible for full refunds.
According to Khaosod Online, the Thai government has addressed concerns regarding parking fees collected at the MRT Khlong Ban Ma Park & Ride facility. Following reports on social media about users being charged 1,000 baht for monthly parking, Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Peritwiwatana clarified that these payments were processed before the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) announced a free parking measure to assist those affected by current flooding.
The free parking policy is effective from September 26 to October 2, 2026. Officials have confirmed that any individuals who paid for parking prior to this announcement are entitled to a full refund, provided they remove their vehicles from the facility by October 2, 2026. For those who paid via credit card, the refund process will be handled through banking systems, which may require additional processing time.
This update is significant for residents and commuters who may have secured parking spaces during the flood crisis. While the refund policy is clear, those seeking reimbursement should ensure their vehicles are moved by the specified deadline to qualify.
