Siam Commercial Bank Announces Flood Relief Measures for Customers
Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has launched urgent financial relief measures for customers affected by ongoing flooding in Bangkok and other designated disaster areas.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has introduced a series of financial relief measures to assist individuals and business owners impacted by the current flooding. The initiative applies to residents in all 50 districts of Bangkok, as well as other provinces officially declared as flood-affected zones by the Ministry of Interior.
The relief program includes options for debt payment deferrals and access to special loans for property and business repairs. For existing mortgage customers, the bank is offering a principal payment holiday of up to three months, during which only interest payments are required. Car loan customers may be eligible for a debt payment suspension of up to three months, with the loan term extended accordingly.
These measures are designed to alleviate the immediate financial burden on those whose homes or businesses have suffered damage. For residents and expatriates, this development is significant as it provides a potential avenue for financial stabilization during the recovery period.
While these measures are now active, specific eligibility criteria for individual cases and the exact application process for new loans should be confirmed directly with local SCB branches. Customers are encouraged to contact the bank to verify if their specific location or loan type qualifies for these relief benefits.
