Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce Establishes 'War Room' to Manage Flood-Related Supply Issues
The Ministry of Commerce has launched a 'Single Command' center to prevent product shortages and price gouging during the ongoing flood crisis.
On September 26, 2026, the Thai Ministry of Commerce announced the creation of a 'Single Command' war room to monitor and mitigate the economic impact of current flooding across the country. According to Deputy Permanent Secretary Jakkra Yodmanee, the initiative follows directives from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun to ensure that essential goods remain available and affordable for all citizens.
The center, which includes the Department of Internal Trade and regional commerce offices, is tasked with coordinating with manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers to accelerate product distribution and adjust logistics to reach flood-affected areas. For residents and travelers, this means the government is actively working to prevent supply chain disruptions and price manipulation. A 24-hour hotline (1569) has been activated for the public to report any instances of unfair pricing or product shortages.
