Don Mueang Airport Taxiway Flooding: Operations Continue as Normal
Heavy rainfall has caused flooding on a taxiway at Don Mueang International Airport, though flight schedules remain unaffected.
On September 26, 2026, heavy rainfall led to flooding on a southern taxiway at Don Mueang International Airport. According to Phisek Chayaphiwut, Deputy Director of Don Mueang Airport (Airports of Thailand PCL), ground crews are actively working to pump water out of the affected area. However, drainage efforts are currently limited by high water levels in surrounding canals, including Khlong Bang Bua, Khlong 2, and Khlong Prem Prachakorn.
Despite the water accumulation, airport authorities have confirmed that flight operations are continuing as scheduled. Airlines have been instructed to avoid the flooded taxiway section, but there is no need for flight cancellations or schedule adjustments at this time.
For travelers and residents, this situation is primarily a logistical concern. While air travel remains unaffected, passengers are strongly advised to allow extra time for travel to the airport, as flooding in the surrounding areas is causing significant traffic congestion on local roads.
