Ratchathewi District Prepares Flood Mitigation Measures
The Ratchathewi District Office is distributing sandbags and establishing emergency shelters to protect residents from potential flooding.
According to the Thailand Government Public Relations Department, the Ratchathewi District Office has initiated proactive flood mitigation efforts. Officials are currently filling and distributing sandbags to local residents to help them protect their properties from rising water levels.
In addition to these preventative measures, the district has designated five emergency shelters. These facilities are specifically intended to support residents living in high-risk areas, with a particular focus on those residing near canals where water overflow is a recurring concern.
For residents and travelers in the area, these measures indicate an increased risk of seasonal flooding. While the district is taking steps to manage the situation, those in low-lying zones or near waterways should remain vigilant and monitor local updates for further instructions. It remains to be confirmed how long these shelters will remain operational and whether additional districts will implement similar measures as the rainy season progresses.
