A couple in Qinzhou, Guangxi, has made headlines for raising 13 children, defying national trends of declining birth rates.
A farming couple from Qinzhou, in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, has garnered significant online attention for raising 13 children. According to a report by Khaosod Online, the 49-year-old father and 42-year-old mother have been married for 22 years and have eight sons and five daughters. The eldest child is 22 and already married, while the youngest is two years old.
In an interview, the father explained that his motivation for having a large family was to ensure his children would not be bullied and to avoid loneliness in his old age, noting the joy he feels when his children call him 'father.' This story stands out as China continues to grapple with a persistent decline in national birth rates.
The family receives government assistance amounting to 3,500 yuan (approximately 17,500 Thai baht) per month. Additionally, local authorities have previously provided financial support to assist the family with housing construction.
