Flash Floods Impact 23 Villages in Prachin Buri
Heavy rainfall has triggered flash floods in Prachin Buri's Wang Tha Chang sub-district, prompting urgent evacuations and road closures.
On September 25, 2026, flash floods struck the Wang Tha Chang sub-district in Kabin Buri, Prachin Buri, affecting all 23 villages in the area. According to reports from Khaosod Online, the flooding was caused by continuous rainfall and rising water levels in the Wang Tha Chang canal.
As of the afternoon of September 25, water levels in some community areas exceeded one meter, rendering roads impassable for small vehicles. Notably, a one-kilometer stretch of rural highway 2006 (Wang Tha Chang-Phong Yai) is currently submerged under 25 centimeters of fast-moving water. Local authorities, including the Wang Tha Chang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, have coordinated with the Sajja Phuttham Kabin Buri Foundation and military personnel from the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 3rd Regiment, to assist in the emergency evacuation of bedridden patients and residents' belongings.
