Severe Flooding Isolates Communities in Chachoengsao
Unprecedented flooding in Chachoengsao's Tha Takhian district has cut off access to multiple villages, disrupting communications and agricultural operations.
On September 25, 2026, severe flooding struck the Tha Takhian district of Chachoengsao province, following a massive influx of water that inundated Highway 3076. According to Khaosod Online, the situation has reached a critical level, with local residents describing the event as the worst in 50 years.
Many villages have been completely isolated, effectively becoming islands as road access is blocked. The flooding has caused widespread disruption, including the total failure of telephone and internet services. Agricultural lands are submerged, and hundreds of livestock, including cattle and buffalo, remain trapped in the floodwaters.
Boonnak Pornpojthanamas, the Chief of the Khlong Takhian Subdistrict Administrative Organization, is personally overseeing emergency operations. Due to limited personnel, authorities are utilizing flat-bottomed boats and heavy-duty vehicles to evacuate vulnerable residents, including the elderly, bedridden patients, and children. A temporary shelter has been established at the Khlong Takhian Subdistrict Administrative Organization office.
For residents and travelers, this area should be avoided as infrastructure remains compromised and communication is unreliable. While emergency efforts are underway, the full extent of the damage to property and the total number of displaced individuals remain to be confirmed as authorities continue to navigate the difficult conditions.
