Two Brothers Drown in Samut Prakan Boat Accident
A tragic boat accident in Samut Prakan has resulted in the deaths of two brothers after their vessel, overloaded with sandbags, sank in the Samrong Canal.
According to a report by Thai Post, a fatal incident occurred in the Samrong Canal near Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai in Samut Prakan province. Two brothers, aged 17 and 20, lost their lives after the boat they were operating sank.
Local authorities from the Bang Phli Police Station were notified of the accident and coordinated with rescue teams and divers to conduct a search operation. The bodies of the two victims, identified as Korapop and Suphakon, were recovered approximately one hour after the search began. Preliminary reports indicate that the vessel was being used to transport sandbags for flood prevention efforts and was overloaded, causing the bow to submerge and the boat to sink.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident serves as a somber reminder of the risks associated with water transport, particularly when vessels are heavily loaded or navigating during flood-prevention activities.
