Heavy Rainfall Causes Flash Flooding in Sattahip
A two-hour downpour in Sattahip, Chonburi, has led to significant flooding on Sukhumvit Road and surrounding residential areas, prompting an emergency response.
On the evening of September 24, 2026, the Sattahip district of Chonburi province experienced intense rainfall starting around 8:00 PM. According to reports from Khaosod Online, the two-hour storm caused widespread flooding, particularly affecting the main Sukhumvit Road and low-lying residential neighborhoods.
The most severe flooding occurred along a one-kilometer stretch of Sukhumvit Road, spanning from the Sattahip intersection (locally known as the Squid intersection) to the KM.1 intersection. The high water levels disrupted traffic, causing some vehicles to stall and forcing others to seek alternative routes.
In response, the Sattahip District Chief, accompanied by the Mayor of Sattahip and local disaster prevention teams, deployed to the affected areas. Officials from the Sawang Rojanathammasathan Foundation and the Sattahip Highway Division are currently working to manage traffic flow and assist residents impacted by the rising water.
