Phetchabun Hospital Addresses Controversy Over Luxury Cars in Emergency Zone

Phetchabun Hospital has issued a formal explanation following online criticism regarding luxury cars and supercars parked in restricted emergency zones. The controversy arose after social media users shared images of high-end vehicles parked in front of the hospital, questioning why some individuals were granted access while others, including relatives of patients, were reportedly forced to park outside and walk.

Dr. Kobchai Jirachanchai, the hospital director, detailed two separate incidents. On the night of September 22, four supercars accompanied an emergency patient transfer from Lom Kao Hospital. Security staff allowed them to park temporarily in the emergency area due to the late hour and low traffic, and the vehicles departed by midnight. A second incident occurred on the morning of September 23, when another group of supercars parked along the hospital’s main thoroughfare. According to the hospital, security personnel attempted to warn the drivers, but the warnings were ignored. The hospital opted not to immobilize the vehicles because they departed after approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

For residents and visitors, this incident highlights the hospital's ongoing struggle to manage limited parking space while balancing emergency access requirements. While the hospital has clarified its protocols, questions remain regarding the enforcement of parking regulations when drivers refuse to comply with security staff instructions.
