Thailand to Implement New Regulatory App for Ride-Hailing Services Starting October 1

According to a report by Matichon Online, the Thai Ministry of Transport is set to introduce a new regulatory measure for ride-hailing applications effective October 1, 2026. The initiative involves the use of a digital 'pocketbook' application designed to monitor and evaluate the performance of ride-hailing platforms operating within the country.
Under this new framework, ride-hailing service providers will undergo a performance assessment every three months. The primary objective of this policy is to prevent these platforms from dispatching jobs to unregistered or illegal vehicles, thereby ensuring higher safety and compliance standards across the sector.
