Former Local Official Accused of Fraud in Government Job Scheme
A 43-year-old woman is seeking the return of 550,000 baht after a former local administrative organization (SAO) president allegedly failed to secure her a government position.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, a 43-year-old woman has filed a complaint at the Damrongtham Center in Khemmarat District, Ubon Ratchathani, alleging she was defrauded by a former local administrative organization (SAO) president. The woman claims she paid 550,000 baht to the former official, identified as Mr. Prawet, under the promise that he could secure her a position as an internal auditor within the Department of Local Administration between 2022 and 2024.
Despite the payment, the woman did not receive the promised job and has been unable to recover her funds. During a mediation session held on September 24, 2026, at the Damrongtham Center, the former official reportedly stated that the money had already been spent and declared he would not be making any repayments. The mediation was witnessed by the Khemmarat District permanent secretary.
