Government Proposes Skill Development Institute as Temporary Campus for Uthen Thawai

On September 24, 2026, Yotsanan Wongsawad, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, visited the Skill Development Institute 1 in Samut Prakan to evaluate its suitability as a temporary learning facility for students from the Uthen Thawai campus.

According to Khaosod Online, the government is exploring this relocation as a strategic move to resolve long-standing conflicts associated with the university's current location and to provide a stable environment for students. During the inspection, Yotsanan noted that the facility is well-equipped with large workshops, machinery, and technical laboratories that align with the practical, hands-on nature of engineering and vocational education provided at Uthen Thawai. He expressed confidence that the site could support academic standards without interruption.

For residents and those in the area, this proposal represents a significant administrative effort to address the ongoing campus dispute.
