Thai Developers Lead Region in AI-Driven Productivity Gains
A new Agoda report reveals that Thai software developers are saving more time through AI integration than their peers in six other surveyed countries.
According to the 'Agoda AI Developer Report 2026' published on September 24, 2026, Thailand has emerged as the regional leader in AI-assisted productivity. The study, which surveyed developers across Southeast Asia and India, found that 70% of Thai developers utilize AI to reduce their weekly workload by at least seven hours. Notably, 54% of this group reported saving more than 10 hours per week, the highest proportion among the seven nations surveyed.
The report highlights a significant shift in the industry, with developers moving beyond using AI as a simple task-specific assistant toward employing autonomous AI agents throughout the entire software development lifecycle. This transition is occurring faster than many industry experts had previously anticipated.
