Myanmar National Apprehended Following Gold Theft in Bangkok
A 25-year-old Myanmar national was detained by local motorcycle taxi drivers after allegedly stealing a gold necklace in Bangkok's Bang Na district.
On September 24, 2026, a 25-year-old Myanmar national, identified as Mr. SAI LOOT, was apprehended following an alleged gold theft at a jewelry store in the Bang Na district of Bangkok. According to reports from Khaosod Online, the incident occurred at the Phetcharee Gold Shop located near Soi Udom Suk 1.
Local motorcycle taxi drivers operating at the entrance of the soi intervened when the suspect attempted to flee the scene. The group successfully detained the individual until officers from the Bang Na Police Station arrived. Police reported that the suspect was found with a two-baht weight gold necklace in his right hand at the time of his arrest. Police Captain Natthanon Napngamthanaset, the investigating officer, confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody along with the recovered property.
