The Office of the National Water Resources (ONWR) has issued a flood alert for nine districts across four provinces, effective from September 23 to 27, 2026. This warning follows forecasts of heavy rainfall and an expected increase in water flow from the north, which is projected to reach 1,802 cubic meters per second at Nakhon Sawan.
To manage the rising water levels, the Chao Phraya Dam has increased its discharge rate to 1,800 cubic meters per second. According to Prachachat Business, the ONWR is coordinating with relevant agencies to divert water to the east and west of the river basin to alleviate pressure on downstream areas.
