Heavy Rains Cause Road Damage and Flooding in Buriram

According to a report by Khaosod Online on September 24, 2026, Buriram province is experiencing significant travel disruptions following heavy overnight rainfall. This weather event aligns with a warning issued by the Thai Meteorological Department regarding heavy to very heavy rain across Thailand, effective from September 23 to 27.

In Ban Kruat district, the situation has resulted in localized flooding and infrastructure damage. Specifically, the Buriram-Ban Kruat road near a gas station in Prasat sub-district is currently flooded, rendering it impassable for small vehicles. Furthermore, a section of the 'Tri 9' road in Nong Mai Ngam sub-district has suffered structural failure, resulting in a complete road collapse that prevents all traffic from passing.

For residents and travelers in the area, these conditions pose a significant risk to mobility. Local authorities, led by the Ban Kruat District Chief, Ekkawat Phuangprakhon, have coordinated with relevant agencies to monitor high-risk zones and water levels.
