According to Khaosod Online, Thai national badminton player Pitchamon 'Pink' Opatniput has been temporarily suspended from competition after testing positive for the banned substance Furosemide. This suspension has effectively disqualified her from participating in the 2026 Asian Games.
Surasak Phancharoenworakul, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, confirmed that the B-sample has been submitted for testing, with results expected by September 26, 2026. The Minister noted that if the B-sample confirms the presence of the prohibited substance, Pitchamon and the Badminton Association of Thailand will need to provide a formal explanation regarding the circumstances of the ingestion to potentially mitigate any disciplinary actions.

The Minister stated that Pitchamon is currently struggling emotionally due to her missed opportunity to compete.
