The alert follows documented cases of patients suffering from severe complications, such as open wounds, inability to close the eyes, scarring, and potential vision loss.
One case involves a 31-year-old woman who sought a budget procedure in Germany for 750 euros after viewing online reviews. She reported intense pain during the operation and complications following an immediate flight home, which was against medical advice. Another patient, a woman in her 40s, experienced wound dehiscence and infection after attempting to remove her own stitches, necessitating four emergency room visits.
For residents and travelers, these incidents highlight the significant health risks associated with prioritizing low costs over medical standards in cosmetic surgery. Experts emphasize that such procedures carry inherent dangers when performed without proper oversight or post-operative care.
