Thai Government Proposes New Early Retirement Scheme for Civil Servants

According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Thai government is currently developing a new early retirement program for ordinary civil servants. Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt, who oversees legal affairs, announced that the proposal intends to offer benefits exceeding 12 months of salary to those who choose to retire early. The program is designed to be accessible to civil servants starting from the age of 40.

To initiate the project, the government has prepared an initial budget of approximately 7 billion baht for the first year of implementation. This policy is part of ongoing discussions regarding the restructuring and management of the civil service workforce.
