Search Operations Continue for Missing Crew of Sunken Fishing Vessel
The Royal Thai Navy has deployed divers and aircraft to search for missing crew members after a fishing boat sank, with no survivors found inside the wreckage.
On September 24, 2026, the Royal Thai Navy provided an update regarding the search for the crew of the fishing vessel 'S. Kanjanawaree 888'. Following the vessel's sinking, the First Naval Area Command dispatched patrol boat T.112, accompanied by specialized Navy SEAL divers and local rescue teams, to the incident site on the afternoon of September 23.
Upon arrival, divers conducted a thorough inspection of the sunken hull and the surrounding area. While no trapped individuals were discovered inside the wreckage, the search remains active. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that missing crew members may have drifted away from the site due to prevailing wind and current conditions.
To maximize the search area, the Navy is utilizing the SARMap system from the Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Center (THAI-MECC), which analyzes environmental data to predict the drift trajectory of potential survivors. Aerial assets have been deployed to cover these projected zones. Furthermore, the Navy has requested that all fishing vessels and maritime traffic in the region maintain a vigilant watch and report any sightings or relevant clues immediately.
