According to reports from Khaosod Online on September 24, 2026, the Aranyaprathet district in Sa Kaeo province is experiencing significant flooding following persistent heavy rainfall. The surge in water levels has caused the Phrom Hot Canal to overflow, inundating nearby homes and causing distress to local residents.
This situation follows earlier warnings issued by the Office of the National Water Resources (ONWR) and the Thai Meteorological Department, which had identified Sa Kaeo as a high-risk area for flash floods and river overflows. Water level sensors near Wat Ko Bridge have been triggered, signaling the rising threat to those living along the canal banks.
In response to the emergency, the Royal Thai Army, specifically the Burapha Task Force and the 19th Military Circle, has deployed personnel to assist residents in moving their belongings to higher ground.
