Authorities Seize Contraband Goods Worth 37 Million Baht in Prachuap Khiri Khan
A multi-agency operation in Prachuap Khiri Khan has resulted in the seizure of illegal cigarettes and alcohol valued at over 37 million baht.
On September 24, 2026, officials in Prachuap Khiri Khan launched 'Operation Phithak Khiri Khan,' a coordinated crackdown on tax-evaded goods. According to Khaosod Online, the operation was led by Thitiphong Khamphui, the Prachuap Khiri Khan Customs Chief, in collaboration with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), the Excise Department, Border Patrol Police, and various provincial security and agricultural agencies.
The task force conducted inspections on transport vehicles along the Phet Kasem Road strategic route and at logistics companies within the province. The operation successfully intercepted a large quantity of smuggled cigarettes and illicit alcohol, with the total value of the seized contraband estimated at over 37 million baht.
