On September 23, 2026, police in the Thung Song Hong district of Bangkok were called to investigate the death of a six-month-old male infant near the Chaeng Watthana 14 housing complex. According to Khaosod Online, the child’s parents, who had hired a nanny to care for their son while they worked, were present at the scene alongside the caregivers when authorities arrived.
The nanny claimed that the infant had been sleeping in a prone position and was discovered with a towel wrapped around his neck. Initial observations by medical personnel from Chulabhorn Hospital noted physical injuries, including a wound behind the ear and bruising around the eye sockets. The parents, both 26, had reportedly sought childcare services online after returning to work following maternity leave.
This incident is currently under investigation by local police and forensic experts. A detailed autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death.
