Thailand Increases Diesel Prices by 0.75 Baht per Liter
The Oil Fuel Fund Administration Committee has announced a retail price hike for diesel fuel effective September 24, 2026, citing global market pressures.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Oil Fuel Fund Administration Committee (OFFAC) has decided to reduce subsidies for diesel fuel, resulting in a retail price increase of 0.75 baht per liter. This adjustment, which takes effect on September 24, 2026, brings the price of B7 diesel to 41.44 baht per liter and B20 diesel to 36.44 baht per liter.
The decision follows a reduction in the subsidy rates provided by the Oil Fuel Fund. Specifically, the subsidy for B7 diesel was lowered from 4.62 to 4.43 baht per liter, while the subsidy for B20 was adjusted to 8.54 baht per liter. OFFAC officials stated that this move is necessary to maintain the fund's liquidity and align domestic prices with volatile global energy market conditions. The committee cited external pressures, including potential export bans and ongoing restrictions related to Russian energy sales, as primary drivers for the decision.
