Accidental Shooting in Si Racha Leaves Woman Seriously Injured
A 36-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by gunfire in an accidental discharge involving her father.
On September 23, 2026, emergency responders in Si Racha, Chonburi, were dispatched to a residential area following reports of a shooting. According to Khaosod Online, a 36-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Saengkham, sustained severe injuries after being struck by multiple rounds from a homemade 12-gauge shotgun.
Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred while the victim’s 52-year-old father, Mr. Khamtan, was cleaning the firearm. The weapon discharged unexpectedly while the victim was nearby using her mobile phone. The victim suffered over ten wounds to her right knee and two additional wounds to her right ankle, resulting in significant blood loss. She was provided with emergency first aid at the scene before being rushed to Laem Chabang Hospital for urgent medical care.
Local police from the Si Racha station have taken Mr. Khamtan into custody for further investigation regarding the incident. For residents and visitors, this event highlights the extreme risks associated with the presence of improperly handled or homemade firearms in residential settings.
