According to a report by Khaosod Online on September 23, 2026, communities in Ayutthaya province, particularly those located outside flood embankments, are facing sudden inundation. The situation follows an announcement from the Royal Irrigation Department regarding increased water discharge from the Chao Phraya Dam, which caused water levels in the Noi River and surrounding canals to rise rapidly.

While residents in these areas are accustomed to seasonal flooding and typically prepare by elevating their property, many reported that the water arrived earlier and rose more quickly than expected this year. In Bang Ban district, local farmers have struggled to move agricultural goods, including export-bound ornamental plants, to higher ground in time. Some residents reported that water levels rose by approximately two meters in a short period, resulting in flooding reaching depths of 70 centimeters under their homes.
