Rapid Response Unit Deployed to Bang Ban Amid Rising Floodwaters
The Thai Armed Forces have dispatched a rapid response team to Ayutthaya’s Bang Ban district to assist 40 households affected by overflowing river water.
On September 23, 2026, the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters announced the deployment of a rapid response disaster relief unit from the Mobile Development Unit 15 (MDU 15) to Bang Ban District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. According to Khaosod Online, Colonel Mahithorn Boonkrong, commander of MDU 15, mobilized 12 personnel equipped with transport vehicles and a flat-bottom boat to provide immediate assistance to local residents.
Recent reports indicate that water has overflowed the riverbanks, causing flooding in several areas. Initial assessments suggest that approximately 40 households, totaling about 120 people, have been impacted by water levels ranging between 30 and 50 centimeters.
