Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organization Faces Corruption Probe
A civic group has petitioned the Thai Parliament to investigate alleged irregularities in procurement contracts awarded by the Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organization between 2021 and 2027.
On September 23, 2026, the People's Association for Monitoring the Exercise of State Power (S.T.P.) submitted a formal complaint to the House Committee on Corruption and Misconduct Prevention. The group is calling for an investigation into the procurement processes of the Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) during the 2021–2027 fiscal years, a period coinciding with the tenure of PAO President Pongsak Tangwanichpong.
According to S.T.P. Secretary-General Thongdee Phupharat, a single entity, T.V.P. Construction Limited Partnership, was awarded 672 construction projects totaling nearly 800 million baht. The association has raised concerns regarding the concentration of these contracts with one provider, particularly for projects exceeding 2 million baht, which typically require electronic bidding processes. The group is urging the committee to summon relevant officials to clarify how these public funds were allocated and whether the process favored a specific contractor.
