On September 23, 2026, heavy and continuous rainfall struck Pattaya, Chonburi, causing rapid flooding in several low-lying and flood-prone areas. According to reports from Khaosod Online, water levels reached up to one meter in certain locations, rendering roads impassable for small vehicles.
Key areas affected include Pattaya Sai 3 Road near Mum Aroi, sections of Sukhumvit Road, and the railway-side road near Wat Tham Samakkhi. Local authorities have responded by closing high-water zones to traffic and deploying teams to accelerate drainage efforts.
This weather event aligns with a warning issued by the Thai Meteorological Department (Announcement No. 4), which forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Eastern region from September 23 to 27. The instability is attributed to a strong low-pressure system moving along the monsoon trough, combined with an intensifying southwest monsoon.
